About me - Karen Taylor

I come from Scotland where I qualified as a registered general nurse and then as a midwife in 1985. At a later stage I worked at a private birth unit specialising in water birth and complementary therapies. My experiences at the birth unit inspired my journey to explore other complementary therapies.

I currently work in London as a Midwife and my specialty is birth preparation classes. Having seen the benefits of Hypnobirthing I decided to train with Katharine Graves, which enables me to provide support which combines the tools of hypnobirthing and my midwifery experience.

In the area of massage I qualified with I.T.E.C in Anatomy, Physiology and therapeutic body massage and now apply my skills working with clients in their own homes. Pregnancy massage can relieve some of the symptoms of pregnancy and is a special time for the mother to connect with her unborn baby. After the birth of the baby, massage eases the emotional and physical stress of having a new addition to the family.

In addition I have qualifications in Reiki 1, 2 and Karuna Reiki, a Japanese healing technique, and Indian head massage.

For the baby, I have trained as an infant massage instructor and also teach baby yoga. Infant massage can be taught from about six weeks and has many benefits for the baby. It is also a special time for the mother and baby to bond and can also involve the fathers.

All my therapies are carried out in a calm and peaceful environment, using soft lighting, music and aromatherapy oils and I am particularly sensitive to the individual needs of each client.
